BLT Market

Butternut squash soup, tuna tartare, fries and burger were great, but straying into the more original items on the menu like rabbit lasagne was a total let down. I'd be willing to go again, but only if I'm out of ideas (which would never happen in NY

Wolfgang's Steakhouse

Maybe I've just had great Luger nights, but I still prefer Luger over Wolfgang's porterhouse. Wolfgang has Luger's completely beat in terms of side dishes though (had the German potatoes and creamed spinach). No tummy space for the seafood platter.

Back Forty

Went to Back Forty in Alphabet City last night.  I should have read the reviews as I normally do before I go.
I had the Lobster & Blue Crab roll.  The crab was good, though I suspect it may have come from a high quality canned stock.  The roll itself was basically a crispy, super buttery hot dog bun.  It wasn't bad overall, though it may have been something I would have preferred for lunch instead of dinner.. including the feeling it didn't deserve to have a dinner price tag on it either.  The fare was simple, homey and comforting.  It was a good dinner, but nothing actually impressed me until dessert.  The Stout Float with blueberry and rhum syrup was fantastic.  It was exceptionally well balanced and put together.. I will be sure to order it again if I happen to return.  As for the reviews, it seems the grass fed burger is what I should have been eating instead.  My company for the night also highly recommended it, but I wimped out and didn't think I could handle a burger after such a big lunch.  My surprisingly pleasant house white was served in a cute little glass milk bottle carafe and the atmosphere reminded me of something of a ranch.  The fries were bland, but the homemade ketchup was great.  The onion rings were delicious, crispy and had oh so much flavor.. I really missed that while I was away in HK.The service was casual and down to earth, friendly and attentive.  No complaints there.
